My principal residency took place at Southwest Elementary School during the school year of 2017-2018. I was under the leadership of principal Nick Rotosky. As part of the administrative team I was responsible for being involved in all aspects of the school culture and instructional life. This included but was not limited to discipline of students, school improvement team, teacher mentoring and observations, and culture building.
LEARNING FOR ALL!
Southwest Elementary is a safe, caring environment where all students are taught based on their individual needs. Small class sizes allow teachers to work with small groups, and one on one, to teach math, reading, science, and social studies.
Students are solving real-world problems, creating poetry, researching people and events, using technology to communicate and learn, teaching their peers, reading all types of books, articles, and historical documents, and having fun doing it!
